| Welcome to the 2008 ABTC National Specialty that will be held in the beautiful city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. We are looking forward to an exciting week of conformation and performance events. Chattanooga is located in southeastern Tennessee, about an hour and a half north of Atlanta. Nestled in a bend of the Tennessee River and surrounded by mountains and lakes, Chattanooga is so beautiful it inspired a community quest to make it the best mid-sized city in America. Our host hotel is the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo, whose staff is anxiously awaiting our arrival. The hotel is an old converted train station that has maintained much of its charm. Three main buildings house the guestrooms; each building has its own pool. You may also choose to stay in a private train car. A trolley runs through the hotel grounds and will be able to take you and your dogs from one place to another. Adjacent to the hotel, a free transportation system connects with many of the city sites. Conformation, Obedience, Rally, and the Terv 2-Miler will all be held on-site. Herding will be held at the farm of Alison and Todd Burnidge in Franklin, Kentucky, approximately 3 hours northwest of Chattanooga. Agility will be held in an outdoor, covered arena approximately 20 miles northeast of the hotel. We are still working on a tracking site. More information will be available soon. We’re looking forward to a large turn-out and promise a good time for all. Y’all come! Lynne Wetherell, 2008 Speciality Chair |
